After graduating from Point Loma High School, advisor and Humanities teacher Ray Brandes earned his Bachelor’s degree and teaching credential from the University of San Diego. He spent nine years at Point Loma High School, where he taught English Literature and coordinated the AVID program. He spent the next six years at the San Diego School for Creative and Performing Arts, where he taught English Literature, World History, Ninth and Tenth Grade English, and coordinated the AVID program. After two years as a Resource Teacher at Montgomery Middle School, he joined the staff of the Met in 2006 and has been an Advisor and Humanities teacher ever since.
